What Data We Collect

We collect and process the following personal data:

• Account information: name, surname, and email address — provided during registration.
• Machine identifier: a unique machine ID generated by the TiaCommander desktop application, used for license activation and validation.
• Product telemetry: anonymous usage statistics including tool calls, action types, and session duration. Telemetry contains no personal data, project content, or PLC program code.
• Technical data: IP address, browser type, and operating system — collected automatically during website visits and API requests.

Purpose of Processing

We process your data for the following purposes:

• Account creation and authentication
• License management and activation
• Product improvement based on aggregated usage patterns
• Communication regarding your account or license
• Product update announcements about new TiaCommander releases

Legal Basis

We process your data based on:

• Contract performance (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) — account and license management.
• Legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) — product telemetry for improvement, and product update announcements sent to registered users about new releases of the software they already use.

You can opt out of product update announcements at any time using the unsubscribe link at the bottom of every announcement email — no login required. You can also turn off "Receive email notifications" in your profile settings, or contact us and we will do it for you. Opting out does not affect emails about your account or license, which we send to perform our contract with you.

Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties. We do not use advertising networks or third-party tracking services. Your data is processed solely by SIA A4 Studio for the purposes stated above.

Data Retention

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active. If you request account deletion, we will remove your personal data within 30 days. Aggregated, anonymized telemetry data may be retained indefinitely as it cannot be linked to any individual.
